Kopanong, a commonage management plan

Countrywide, municipal commonage continues to represent a valuable and under-utilised developmental resource. With the careful introduction of effective management, methods and models, the potential for a more effective land reform, food security, local economic development and sustainable natural resource use, is immediately realisable.

However, in most localities, this potential is being undermined by the lack of effective management systems, entrepreneurial support programmes and appropriate and economic developmental models for commonage users. This project aims to draw up a commonage management plan.
